As a Tax counsel you will be part of the Legal, Tax & Compliance Department, reporting directly to the General Counsel.
Result areas of the department
The Legal, Tax & Compliance Department is responsible for providing legal and tax counselling and ensuring overall compliance within the assigned scope. The team focuses on ensuring compliance of the legal and tax status of the structure, operations, and agreements (funding, credit, equity) of Oikocredit and related foundations and on developing compliance policies.
The Tax Counsel will be responsible for delivering a full range of tax services in compliance with laws and regulations.
Result areas of the job
The results areas of the job are mainly providing tax advice and tax compliance.
For tax advice this means advising on a broad range of topics relating to Oikocredit’s head office in Amersfoort, its offices abroad and related foundations like on CIT, VAT, payroll taxes, withholding taxes, FATCA/CRS, transfer pricing, fair taxation, etc. The Tax Counsel is the point of contact for tax complexities resulting from the international span of Oikocredit.
For tax compliance this means compliance relating to Dutch taxes, FATCA/CRS, global withholding taxes on interest and transfer pricing documentation and monitoring of compliance issues abroad. This includes mitigation of tax risks. It also provides support to credit and equity transactions.
The Tax Counsel proactively searches for improvement opportunities in current policies, procedures and guidelines within the own discipline. Also, he/she is a sparring partner for senior management regarding designated area to advice decision makers.

Education, skills and experience
• Masters’ Degree in the field of tax law
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience
• Knowledge of (international) corporate structures and global and local tax regulations
• Fluency in Dutch and English and desirably another language (Spanish or French)
• Good number sense
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
