The Senior Legal Counsel will advise on a variety of legal issues, with a focus on M&A and corporate finance transactions. This will include structuring transactions, drafting and reviewing (legal) documents and actively participating in negotiations to meet business objectives and mitigate legal risks. Additional responsibilities range from advising on general commercial agreements and governance principles to handling complex legal issues which may have a major impact on the company. All this in a pro-active manner, anticipating changes in laws and regulations and translating them into concrete actions to be taken by management.
The role entails working in an international environment, in close co-operation with colleagues from other functions at the Corporate Center as well as external experts. The Senior Legal Counsel will be part of an experienced team and report to the Head of Legal of AEGON N.V. AEGON’s corporate language is English.
REQUESTED
– 6 – 10 years of relevant experience gained at a reputable law firm, financial institution or (insurance) company
- Experience in the field of M&A and (preferably) finance transactions
- Strong personality with good communication skills
