Norton Rose Group opent in september een vestiging in Casablanca. Het is voor het advocatenkantoor de vijfde vestiging in Afrika: het zit al in Kaapstand, Durban, Johannesburg (Zuid-Afrika) en Dar Es Salaam (Tanzania). Dat meldt het kantoor in een persbericht.
Norton Rose is het derde kantoor dat in korte tijd meldt dat het een vestiging opent in Casablanca. Vorige week werd bekend dat Allen & Overy en Clifford Chance hetzelfde doen. Tim Marsden, Deputy Managing Partner, Norton Rose LLP, laat in het persbericht weten echter niet achter de andere twee kantoren aan te hobbelen: “We are already world leaders in Africa and extremely well-established on the continent. We have been very active in the North African market for some years and Casablanca provides a further focus for our existing practice in that region.”
En: “The Casablanca proposal is not in reaction to recent market announcements, but has been some months in development. This move is not accelerated but is a natural progression of our number one Africa business. We are in a unique position to develop Africa’s international business ties with the rest of the world.”
